Amber is hard, translucent, fossilized tree resin produced by extinct coniferous trees from the Tertiary period. It is typically yellow in color but can range from brown to orange or red. Amber is graded by color, clarity, rarity of inclusions (popularized by Jurassic Park), hardness, color of fluorescence, and sometimes locality. Many ambers fluoresce green or blue under ultraviolet light, giving added appeal and value! While Amber is hard enough to use in jewelry, Copal is young amber that does not have the same durability. All of our Indonesian Amber was hand selected in Indonesia in 2012 and has been tested in a lab in Tokyo, proving it as genuine Amber and not Copal. All of our Mexican Amber is ethically sourced directly in Chiapas straight from the miners.
Amber is highly prized in the metaphysical world for its soothing energy. Amber is ideal for cleansing and reactivating chakras, particularly the sacral and solar plexus chakras. Amber encourages patience and flexibility, and helps bring balance and stability to one’s life. Its warm, bright energy encourages cheerfulness, trust, and self confidence. Many people find Amber to be a powerful stone for alleviating stress, depression, and anxiety, and for increasing overall vitality and energy levels!
