This sizeable specimen from the Sapo Mine is a classic example of the geological pegmatite relationship. A matrix of creamy cleavelandite feldspar hosts a large tabular apatite crystal. The apatite has beveled edges and is well terminated, with good luster, and very large size for this locality. The Sapo Mine is well known among collectors for its fine specimens of apatite, as well as colorful tourmaline crystals that are eagerly sought by collectors.
