The majority of Indian Quartz in the market comes from both Karur in the South and many different areas in the far North high in the Himalayas. Alpine deposits produce a stunning array of water clear quartz, sometimes with etchings. Nepal in particular is known for its extremely clear Quartz. In the indian Himalayas, a wide variety of included Quartz is found, seemingly with a new type every year or so surfacing, and then disappearing again.
India surprisingly does not offer a wide variety of mineral treasures. They do have an extensive deposit of Zeolite minerals that dazzle the eye with amazing color and aesthetic. Karur, in the south, is a fantastic world renowned Amethyst deposit. And far north in the Himalayas, like all mountain ranges, exceptional quartzes of great variety can be found.
