Largest Uvite Crystal is 3cm
This Uvite tourmaline specimen has over 40 crystals, the largest measuring 3cm! Uvite is an uncommon to rare variety of tourmaline that only forms at a few different places on the world map. Specimens from Brumado, Brazil are in a class of their own, and can either be apple to forest green or borderline red in color. The uvites are hosted on a matrix of crystalline magnesite, which is present as prismatic white crystals- a rarity for this mineral. A very rich example of this rare variety of tourmaline, showing excellent contrast and crystal form.
