Sapo Mine, Brazil
A generously sized specimen featuring blue apatite crystals on a matrix of sheet-like quartz from the pegmatites of Golconda, Brazil. The apatite crystals are tiny, prismatic gem blue crystals with defined hexagon shape, classic for members of this mineral group. The matrix is an interesting sheet of quartz, which also has some tabular quartz crystals growing on the top. An interesting piece showcasing the unique gem blue variety of apatite, affordably priced for a substantial small cabinet specimen.
