Hailing from (you guessed it, Brazil!) Brazilianite is a bright yellow mineral that captivates the eye. Yellow isn't very common in the mineral world, and Brazilianite sure is up there as one of the finest yellows around. Production has been sparse lately, but good stock came in more quantity in the 2000s.
Brazil is the one country that has the largest network of specimen and gem mining in the world. It is well known for many of the world's best pegmatites, producing high class Gem Crystals. Brazil has the widest variety of multi-colored Tourmaline worldwide, and is semi-regularly producing new colors every few years. The vast array of Quartz varieties from Brazil deserve a book of their own.
