Tourmaline grows inside of Quartz in quite a few places on Earth. Most of ours are from Brazil. Meaning "all colors," tourmaline has become the most fascinating of all gem crystals. In the past 10 years, the interest in tourmaline has spiked tremendously! Many special pockets are named and pedigreed, and the sheer variety in tourmaline will always keep it popular. Look for and get to know the various color zoning, usually in the form of banding and core-coloring. Tourmaline has a somewhat of a cult following. Its just one of those gems that never ceases to amaze!!
Quartz was our first stone passion. For a decade we have attempted to gather as much diversely included and colorful Quartzes as we could find, from every corner of the globe, travelling both to country of origin, and utilizing a vast network of suppliers developed through exhibiting at major USA and international gem and mineral shows. Here is a representation of those efforts - some of the best of our finds, as well as a tremendous volume that has just piled up as a result of wholesaling in volume! If you have a variety of aesthetic Quartz to add to our offerings, we'd love to see a flat of material! We also personally collect high quality fine Quartzes.
Mozambique is a sleepy gem producing region, ironically Portuguese in colonization, that has surprisingly similar deposits to some pegmatites in Brazil. Like much of Africa, Mozambique is still full of gems yet to be unearthed. Recent major finds of Ruby have really influenced the gem market. With major famous cuprian tourmaline deposits, Mozambique will continue to amaze us yet in the future.
