The majority of Indian Quartz in the market comes from both Karur in the South and many different areas in the far North high within the Himalayas. Alpine deposits produce a beautiful array of water clear quartz, sometimes with etchings. Nepal, especially, is known for its extremely clear Quartz. In the Indian Himalayas, a wide variety of included Quartz is found, seemingly with a new type every year or so surfacing, and then disappearing once more.
India surprisingly does not provide a wide variety of mineral treasures. They do have an in depth deposit of Zeolite minerals that dazzle the eye with amazing color and aesthetic. Karur, in the south, is a remarkable world renowned Amethyst deposit. And far north in the Himalayas, like all mountain ranges, remarkable quartzes of great variety can be found.
