This specimen comes from an OLD STOCK Collection belonging to "Buck" Donald Keller Jr. Buck Keller was from Mechanicsville, Maryland and was an avid rock collector up until his death in August 2013. If available the specimen will come with the original tag made by Buck Keller. We are not responsible for any labeling that may be attached to the rock.
One of the more untapped countries for specimen collecting, Australia has a wealth of minerals to offer. Unfortunately, the country is so big and so remote that prospecting is not the cheapest or easiest endeavor. Often times just to get to the mining areas from the highly populated east coast, drives over 2000 km one-way are required! Western Australia boasts the countries largest industrial mineralization. It is perhaps the most remote place on earth and that makes specimen mining there somewhat prohibitive. We do see stones come to market occasionally though.
