Chlorite in Quartz comes from many regions across the globe. Bright Green solid phantoms in water clear quartz are not very common, but highly sought after! Chlorite Quartz is usually found in alpine deposits, which also are known for producing odd habits and formations. Quartz was our first stone passion! For a decade and a half we have attempted to gather as much diversely included and colorful Quartzes as we could find, from every corner of the globe, traveling both to country of origin, and utilizing a vast network of suppliers developed through exhibiting at major USA and international gem and mineral shows. We offer for sale some of the best of our finds, as well as a tremendous volume that has just piled up as a result of wholesaling in volume! If you have a variety of aesthetic Quartz to add to our collection, we'd love to see a flat of material! We also personally collect high quality fine Quartzes, so feel free to email us if you have something special for sale.
Mineral exploration in South Africa has been thriving for centuries! Although rich in a diversity of industrial minerals, specimen mining in South Africa is actually not as prevalent as one would expect. Diamonds, Gold, Manganese, etc are the main focus. But there are a few deposits worthy of noting that have produced over the years. The Kalahari Manganese field provides for the greatest amount of diversity, the Cactus Quartz deposit produces volume in Quartz, and the Messina Copper district produces some of the finest included Quartzes in the world! While many specimens are surely there to find, bureaucracy makes South Africa a challenging country to mine for specimens.
